Bad review for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Litchfield Park: I thought my battery was going bad so after checking to make sure it was still under warranty, my boyfriend took it over. They said the battery was bad but that the alternator was putting out 1 amp less than normal (but still enough to charge the battery) so they refused to provide a new battery until the alternator was fixed. After talking to 4 different mechanics shops this morning, they all said you can't test an alternator reliably with a bad battery. So I took it to Wilhelm since they could get me in immediately and had the lowest fee to check the alternator - $57.50. After confirming the battery was bad, Joe acquired the free warranty replacement from O'Reilly and told them they basically made me waste money. Per Joe, the entire charging system is running "perfectly" with the new battery in and the old battery was "swollen so I don't know why they didn't just replace it." O'Reilly also told Joe that this was my "last replacement" battery. Ugh...this was my first and only replacement on a 3 year warranty that expires in 2018. Jerks! On the plus side, Wilhelm Automotive was great, close by, has a cool rewards program, and quick complementary rides. They definitely earned my return business today! Now I can hit the road to go camping for the weekend and escape this heat!
